May seem simple, but helpful none the less. If you embed an Excel chart in PowerPoint and then edit that chart, you’ll sometimes alter the size of the chart and then see the Excel file’s gridlines appear. To remove them, double-click your chart. Then go to your file menu and choose ‘Tools’, then ‘Options’. Deselect the checkbox for ‘Gridlines’ under ‘Window Options’.
